A new take on an old, old idea, the 4our Elements is a show that opens by depicting the smooth terrain of the Plains of the Midwest, but suddenly transforms to the angular and treacherous ground of the canyons and mountains that exist as you move out west. The second movement starts with air, then moves through a woodwind feature and begins to rain, taking us into the water section of the show. The final movement borrows from Stravinksy’s Firebird and uses mostly the Infernal Dance to depict the heat, energy and immediacy brought on by Fire.

The 4our Elements provides numerous opportunities for soloists and small groups as well as many chances to incorporate unique drill work and/or body movement. This show, while designed for smaller or less experienced groups, still provides a thorough challenge and keeps students interested.
